Tulane beats North Carolina A&T 81-55
NEW ORLEANS (AP)—Robinson Louisme scored 16 points and Kevin Sims added 15 to help Tulane to a 81-55 win over North Carolina A&T on Thursday night.
The Green Wave (5-4) never trailed in the contest, scoring nine straight points in less than two minutes to take a 21-9 lead in the first half. Tulane went up by 27 points on Kendall Timmons’ free throw with 6:51 left in the half.
North Carolina A&T (5-5) trimmed the Green Wave’s lead to 44-35 with 15:12 remaining in the second half after Nicholas Wilson scored on a layup off a steal. But Tulane outscored the Aggies 13-2 over the next five minutes to claim a 57-37 advantage to pull away.
Daniel Puckett scored 12 points and grabbed 12 rebounds—five offensive— for the Green Wave. Kris Richard finished with 10 points.
Robert Johnson led North Carolina A&T with 16 points and Tavarus Alston added 12.
