James Madison beats Morehead State 74-62

MOREHEAD, Ky. (AP)—Kyle Swanston scored 23 points to help James Madison beat Morehead State 74-62 on Thursday.

Swanston made five 3-pointers for the Dukes (6-4), while Juwann James added 14 points.

James Madison took an 11-9 lead in the first half on a 3-pointer by Julius Wells, who sparked a 26-15 run to help the Dukes claim a 34-24 advantage at halftime.

James Madison’s margin never dropped below double digits in the second half, surging to its largest lead at 55-33 midway though the half.

Kenneth Faried led Morehead State (3-8) with 21 points and 11 rebounds—his sixth double-double of the season. Robert Murry scored 11 and Leon Buchanan added 10.

James Madison shot 26 of 48 from the field (54.2 percent), while the Eagles were 23 of 54 (42.6 percent). The Dukes hit eight of their first 10 3-pointers on its way to 10 of 16 shooting beyond the arc.
