Illinois-Chicago beats Lewis 80-57

CHICAGO (AP)—Guard Josh Mayo scored 21 points to lead Illinois-Chicago to an 80-57 rout of Lewis on Wednesday night.

Center Scott Vandermeer added 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Flames, who improved to 7-2 on the season, while Tori Boyd contributed 13 points.

Illinois-Chicago led 34-29 at halftime, and ran away after the intermission, outscoring Lewis 46-28 in the second half. The Flames shot 47 percent, after the break, compared to 32 percent for Lewis.

Guard Dennis Thomas Jr. led the Flyers with 13 points, followed by Jason Genova and Chris McClellan with 11 points apiece.

Lewis fell to 5-3.
