Chicago State beats Southern U. 76-68
CHICAGO (AP)—A 28-point performance by guard David Holston led Chicago State to a 76-68 come-from-behind win over Southern University on Wednesday night.
Holston went 6-for-16 from 3-point range and nailed both of his free throws in his 36 minutes on the floor. Fellow guard John Cantrell added 20 points for the Cougars, who improved to 4-6 on the season.
Southern’s winless Jaguars, now 0-9, seemed on their way to their first victory of the season at halftime, when they led 34-28, but Chicago State outscored them 48-34 after the intermission.
Guard Chris Davis led Southern with 19 points, while Griffin Desmond and Jazz Williams chipped in 11 points apiece for the Jaguars.
