Southeastern Louisiana routs Millsaps 85-56
HAMMOND, La. (AP)—Kevyn Green scored 17 points to lead Southeastern Louisiana to an 85-56 win over Millsaps on Tuesday night.
The Lions (5-4) led 6-4 with 16:35 left in the first half, then went on an 11-0 run. A subsequent 14-2 run helped Southeastern Louisiana close out the half at 42-16.
The Lions shot 61.5 percent from the field (16 of 26) in the first half while the Majors made only six of 27 shots (22.2 percent).
Millsaps (2-7), a Division III school, cut the lead to 20 points, but couldn’t get any closer despite making 15 of 23 shots from the field in the second half (65.2 percent). The Lions again shot 61.5 percent (16 of 26) to lead by as many as 34 points.
Warrell Spann and Damon Forest added 15 points apiece for Southeastern Louisiana and Patrick Sullivan had 11.
Martinez led the Majors with 17 points and Cameron Varnado added 11.
