Woodfox carries Creighton past Southern U. 71-60

OMAHA, Neb. (AP)—Booker Woodfox scored 17 points Monday to lead Creighton past Southern University 71-60.

The senior guard canned three consecutive threes late in the second half to help the Bluejays improve to 8-2 on the season. Woodfox is shooting 53 percent from 3-point range through 10 games this season.

Creighton scored 12 of the game’s first 13 points and never trailed while improving to 7-0 at home.

Woodfox’s one-minute barrage of 3-pointers gave the Bluejays an insurmountable 15-point cushion. Cavel Witter, P’Allen Stinnett and Justin Carter also scored in double figures for the Jays.

Southern got 16 points from Chris Davis and 15 from Jazz Williams.
