Fairfield beats Drexel 66-60
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP)—Anthony Johnson scored 14 points and pulled down 16 rebounds to lead Fairfield over Drexel 66-60 Sunday afternoon.
The Stags (8-3), who came into the game shooting 60 percent from the foul line, made 5-of-6 free throws in the final 31.7 seconds to pull away after Drexel had pulled within a point, 61-60, on Evan Neisler’s layup.
Jonthan Han added 12 points while Greg Nero and Warren Edney each had 11 for Fairfield, which won its seventh straight game.
Scott Rodgers and Gerlad Colds each scored 11 points for the Dragons, who shot 32.1 percent (25-of-78) from the field. Jamie Harris added 11.
Johnson was one rebound shy of a double-double in the first half, scoring 10 points with nine rebound as the Stags took a 32-26 halftime lead.
