N. Dakota St. beats Georgia Southern 98-77
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP)—One night after scoring a record 60 points in a triple-overtime loss, North Dakota State’s Ben Woodside tallied 31 to lead the Bison to a 98-77 win over Georgia Southern in the Hy-Vee Classic.
Woodside was 8-for-15 from the field and made 11 of 12 free throws as NDSU (5-3) rebounded from a 112-111 setback to Stephen F. Austin on Friday. Woodside also had 10 assists and four 3-pointers.
Mike Nelson added 18 points and Brett Winkelman chipped in 15 points and 11 rebounds. Also in double figures were Michael Tveidt with 12 points and Eric Carlson with 10.
The Bison shot 50 percent from the field and outrebounded the Eagles 42-26.
Willie Powers led Georgia Southern (3-5) with 26 points. Julian Allen added 19 points and nine rebounds and Tyler Troupe had 11 points.
