Florida A&M defeats Kennesaw State 63-58

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP)—Lamar Twitty scored 19 points to lead Florida A&M past Kennesaw State 63-58 on Saturday night.

Twitty gave Florida A&M its first lead of the game on a 3-pointer with 2:27 left to play.

The Rattlers (2-7) then held off a late Kennesaw State (2-7) rally for their first home win of the season.

Trailing by eight points, Kennesaw State scored five points in the game’s final 14 seconds, bringing the Rattlers’ lead to three. But with 2.9 seconds remaining, Florida A&M’s Yannick Crowder dunked a long inbound pass from Joe Ballard to put the game out of reach.

The Rattlers trailed by as many as 12 points in the second half, but outscored the Owls 27-10 in the game’s final 11:36. Twitty scored 12 of his game-high 19 points during the run.

Kelvin McConnell led the Owls with 17 points and Jon-Michael Nickerson added 16.
