San Francisco tops Boise State 79-76
BOISE, Idaho (AP)—Dior Lowhorn scored 20 points and Kwame Vaughn had 18 to lead San Francisco to a 79-76 victory over Boise State on Saturday night.
Lowhorn led the way in the early going, but it was Vaughn and fellow freshman Angelo Caloiaro who made the difference for the Dons (7-4) late in the game, which had 11 lead changes in the final 9 minutes.
With a little more than a minute left, Vaughn put the Dons up 73-71 by hitting a layup down the lane and the ensuing free throw.
After a miss by Boise State (6-3), Caloiaro sank a floater that put the Dons up by four with 29 seconds to go and the Dons held on for the victory.
San Francisco shot 51.9 percent from the field and hit 65 percent of 3-point attempts.
Boise State trailed most of the game, but took its first lead when Anthony Thomas hit a layup to put the Broncos up 55-54 with 9:20 to go.
Mark Sanchez had 15 points to lead Boise State, which shot 56 percent for the game.
