Kentucky beats MVSU 88-65
LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP)—Jodie Meeks had 24 points and Patrick Patterson added 21 as Kentucky rebounded from its sluggish shooting a day earlier with a 88-65 blowout over Mississippi Valley State on Sunday.
Kentucky (6-3) made 54 percent of its shots and held the Delta Devils (0-10) to 34 percent.
Nobody had more of a resurgence than Meeks, who missed 10 of 12 3-point attempts Saturday in Kentucky’s loss to No. 21 Miami. Meeks made 8 of 12 shots from the floor and scored half of his points from long-range.
Kentucky led 42-36 with 18 minutes left in the game after a 3-pointer by MVSU’s Shannon Behling. Then the Wildcats went on a 17-1 run to erase any doubt.
But it wasn’t just Meeks’ jump shots that were clicking for Kentucky. The Wildcats consistently got the ball inside to Patrick Patterson, who had his sixth double-double of the year with 21 points and 10 rebounds.
