Alcorn State beats William Carey 97-92

LORMAN, Miss. (AP)—Troy Jackson scored a game-high 31 points as Alcorn State defeated William Carey in double overtime on Friday night.

After playing to a 79-all tie at the end of regulation, Alcorn State (1-6) and William Carey scored seven each in the first overtime period.

The Braves then outscored William Carey, an NAIA team, 11-6 in the final overtime period.

Alcorn State was 10 of 15 from the free-throw line in overtime.

JaMarkus Holt scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Braves.

William Carey was led by Dexter Middleton with 24 points, followed by Terry Wade and Anthony Wilcker with 16 each.
