Austin Peay downs SE Missouri 91-67
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP)—Kyle Duncan scored all 18 of his points on 3-pointers as Austin Peay beat Southeast Missouri 91-67 on Thursday night.
Wes Channels scored 20 points and Drake Reed added 13 for the Governors (4-2, 1-0 Ohio Valley), who led from start to finish.
Calvin Williams paced the Redhawks (2-5, 0-1) with 21 points. Jaycen Herring scored 17 and Kenard Moore added 13.
Duncan made 6-of-7 3-pointers as Austin Peay shot 46 percent from long range. Southeast Missouri hit just 17 percent of its 3-point attempts.
The Governors staged runs of 16-4 and 16-6 in building a 45-27 halftime lead.
Southeast Missouri threatened midway through the second half with a full-court press but could only reduce the deficit to 66-52. Austin Peay gained its biggest lead, 88-62, with about 2 minutes left in the game.
