The Citadel beats UNC-Greensboro 57-50
GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP)—Cameron Wells scored a team-high 12 points to lead The Citadel to a 57-50 win against UNC-Greensboro in the Southern Conference opener for both teams on Thursday night.
Wells also grabbed a team-high nine rebounds for the Bulldogs (5-3, 1-0), who shot 46.8 percent from the field (23 of 49) en route to victory. Demetrius Nelson scored 11 points and Austin Dahn added 10.
Landon Clement scored a game-high 15 points to lead the Spartans (1-4, 0-1), and Ben Stywall grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds while scoring six points. The Spartans shot 30.8 percent (19 of 63) for the game.
The Bulldogs outrebounded the Spartans 40-34 with 30 coming on the defensive end.
