Siena defeats Loyola, Md. 75-68

BALTIMORE (AP)—Alex Franklin scored 21 points and Edwin Ubiles added 20 to lead Siena past Loyola, Md. 75-68 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opener on Wednesday night.

Kenny Hasbrouck added 13 points for the Saints (3-3, 1-0), who bounced back after three consecutive losses in the Old Spice Classic over the weekend. Jamal Barney had 20 points, 10 rebounds and three steals. Brett Harvey scored 15 for Loyola (2-6, 0-1), which has now lost three in a row.

The Saints, who made 26 of 51 field goals, opened their biggest lead at 45-34 on a free throw by Hasbrouck with 17:09 remaining. The Greyhounds responded with a 10-2 run, cutting the margin to three.

Loyola tied the game at 54 on jumper by Brad Farrell with 7:18 left, but Siena responded with a 14-2 run over the next five minutes to seal the victory.
