Stony Brook 60, N.J. Tech 39
NEWARK, N.J. (AP)—Freshman Bryan Dougher scored a game-high 24 points as Stony Brook defeated N.J. Tech 60-39 Tuesday night.
Muhammad El-Amin added 13 points off the bench for the Seawolves, who won their second straight and improved to 3-3 on the season.
Stony Brook led the entire way, jumping to a 32-15 halftime lead and holding N.J. Tech (0-6) to just 30 percent from the floor, including 1-of-20 from 3-point range.
Paulius Skema led N.J. Tech with 11 points. Dan Stonkus had a game-high eight rebounds for the Highlanders.
Dougher hit a pair of 3-pointers as the Seawolves scored the first six points of the game. They built a 14-4 lead midway through the half and were never threatened after that.
The loss was the 39th straight for N.J. Tech (0-4), which hasn’t won since beating Longwood on Feb. 19, 2007.
