Hazell’s 32 leads Seton Hall over Monmouth 101-78
NEWARK, N.J. (AP)—Jeremy Hazell tied a career high with 32 points as Seton Hall rolled to a 101-78 win over Monmouth (N.J.) Tuesday night.
Robert Mitchell added 23 points and seven rebounds for the Pirates (6-1), and John Garcia had 12.
Paul Gause stole two straight inbounds passes and converted on a pair of easy baskets to give the Pirates a 20-8 lead in the opening five minutes. Overall, Seton Hall forced 14 turnovers in the first half and turned them into 18 points.
Despite shooting 54 percent from the field, the Hawks trailed by 24 points at halftime 59-35.
Seton Hall began the second half with an 8-2 run and led by as many as 39 points in the half.
Travis Taylor led Monmouth (1-7) with 18 points and nine rebounds off the bench.
