ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP)—Kaleo Kina scored 21 of his 29 points in the second half to help Navy rally to a 78-65 win over Texas-San Antonio on Tuesday night.
The Midshipmen (6-1) shot 84.2 percent from the floor in the second half (16 of 19) to come back from a seven-point halftime deficit.
Navy shot 71.4 percent (25 for 35) for the game, the fourth best shooting percentage in school history, and outrebounded the Roadrunners (2-3) in the second half 22-12.
Kina, who was 9 for 11 from the floor and 11 of 15 on his free throws, has scored 59 points in Navy’s past two games. Adam Teague added 16 for the Midshipmen.
The win was the sixth in a row for Navy, which is off to its best start since 1998-1999, when the squad also started 6-1.
Travis Gabbidon led Texas-San Antonio with 13 points.
The Roadrunners made only 2 of 19 3-pointers in the second half.
