St. Francis, Pa. defeats Morgan State 65-61.

BALTIMORE (AP)—Devin Sweetney scored 19 points and Marquis Ford added 16 for St. Francis (Pa.), which never trailed in a 65-61 victory over Morgan State on Monday night.

The Red Flash (3-4) ended Morgan State’s 15-game home winning streak, dating back to a two-point loss to Hampton on Feb. 20, 2007. The Bears (2-6) could not overcome their poor shooting and made just 21 of 59 field goals (35.6 percent) and 13 of 23 free throws.

Reggie Holmes scored 19 points and Joseph Morgan added 10 for Morgan State.

Mislav Jukic had 11 points for St. Francis.

A jump shot by Ford gave St. Francis its biggest lead, 39-27, with 14:49 left in the game. The Bears continued to stay close and a 3-pointer by Holmes cut the lead to 61-59 with 29.9 seconds left. St. Francis then made 3 of 4 free throws in the final 20 seconds to seal the win.
