Akron runs past Fairleigh Dickinson 85-41
HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP)—Nate Linhart came off the bench to score 19 points and grab seven rebounds as Akron routed Fairleigh Dickinson 85-41 in a Legends Classic game on Sunday night.
Brett McKnight and Anthony Hitchens both added 12 points for the Zips (4-2), who hit 47.1 percent from the field and forced the Knights (0-5) to commit 22 turnovers. Terence Grier, Cameron Tyler and Kamil Svrdlik each had eight points for FDU, who hit just 22.7 percent of their shots and went 1-for-9 from 3-point range.
Akron was in command from the start and held double-digit leads for most of the game.
The Zips opened the game with a 20-7 run and jumped out to a 43-23 lead at the break. They then started the second half with a 9-0 run and held FDU to just one basket during the first 10 minutes of the half.
