SFA shuts down Texas College in 2nd half

NACOGDOCHES, Texas (AP)—Matt Kinglsey scored 13 points and Stephen F. Austin kept Texas College scoreless for much of the second half in a 83-42 win Saturday night.

Benson Akpan added 12 points for the Lumberjacks (2-2), who held the Steers to making just two second-half baskets. It wasn’t until 8:27 left in the game that Texas College (1-6) scored for its first points since halftime.

Czyz Bennett scored 13 points and Jafer Johnson had 12 for Texas College.

The Lumberjacks shots 55 percent from the floor and got scoring from 11 different players.
