Coastal Carolina rallies for 69-60 overtime win
LAS VEGAS (AP)—Joseph Harris had 27 points and 13 rebounds, and Coastal Carolina rallied to beat Western Illinois 69-60 in overtime Friday at the Las Vegas invitational tournament.
Anthony Breeze added 14 points for Coastal Carolina, which erased a 10-point deficit in the final five minutes of regulation to force the extra period and held Western Illinois scoreless in the five-minute overtime for its first win of the season.
Coastal Carolina (1-4) closed the game on a 20-3 run, forcing overtime on a tip-in by Breeze with three seconds to play. Breeze scored four points in overtime including a layup with 1:05 left to give Coastal Carolina a six-point lead.
Josh Rivers scored 18 points and David DuBois added 12 for Western Illinois (1-5).
Coastal Carolina outrebounded Western Illinois 36-20, helping create several second-chance opportunities late in the game.
