Charleston Southern beats N. Florida 68-60 in OT
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP)—Omar Carter and Jamarco Warren scored 15 points apiece as Charleston Southern defeated winless North Florida 68-60 in overtime Friday night.
The Buccaneers (3-3) outscored the Ospreys 12-4 in the overtime period with six free throws and two 3-pointers.
The loss was the seventh straight for the Ospreys (0-5) dating back to last season and 54th straight loss on the road.
North Florida led 27-25 at halftime and built the margin to 11 points with 5:47 on the clock in regulation. Carter hit a 3-pointer for the Buccaneers with 36 seconds left to tie the score at 56 and force overtime.
After Cortez Riley hit a jumper with 3:47 left, the Ospreys didn’t score again until 9 seconds remained.
Charleston Southern made eight 3-pointers compared to two for North Florida.
Riley scored 21 points for the Ospreys and Matt Sauey added 16.
