TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP)—Danero Thomas scored a career-high 22 points as Murray State beat Indiana State 67-61 on Wednesday night.
Thomas made 8 of 15 field goals, including 4 of 6 3-pointers for the Racers (3-1). Jeffery McClain added nine points and nine rebounds for Murray State.
Jay Tunnell scored 12 points, Keenan Barlow scored 11 and Aaron Carter added 10 for Indiana State (0-3).
Indiana State led 35-33 at halftime, but Thomas tied the game at 37 with a 3-pointer with 15:58 to play.
The Racers took an eight-point lead before Indiana State rallied and cut Murray State’s advantage to 61-59 with 1:18 to play.
Tyler Holloway and McClain each went 2-for-2 from the free-throw line in the final 45 seconds to keep the Racers ahead.
