Louisiana-Monroe beats Stephen F. Austin 60-58
MONROE, La. (AP)—Malcolm Thomas hit a 15-foot jump shot with time expiring to give Louisiana-Monroe a 60-58 win over Stephen F. Austin on Tuesday night.
Brandon Williams hit a 3-pointer with 1.8 seconds remaining, tying the score at 58 before the Lumberjacks (1-2) turned the ball over on an inbounds play right under Louisiana-Monroe’s basket.
Thomas finished with 18 points, followed by 14 points from Kenneth Averette.
The Warhawks (2-2) outscored the Lumberjacks 24-5 throughout the final eight minutes, erasing what was a 17-point lead. Stephen F. Austin led 33-26 at halftime.
Josh Alexander led Stephen F. Austin with 19 points.
