Talladega beats Southern 69-64

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP)—Micah Hagans scored a game-high 30 points to lead Talladega to a 69-64 win against Southern University on Tuesday night.

Hagans was 7-for-10 from behind the arc for Talladega (7-1), who shot 47.3 percent (26 of 55) from the field en route to victory. Meshon Lewis scored 11 points and Drew Washington added 10. Jerel Davis scored nine points and notched a game-high nine rebounds and nine blocks for Talladega.

Southern (0-3) was led by Jazz Williams, who had 16 points. Steffon Wilay chipped in 12 points.

Southern shot 38.5 percent (25 of 65) from the field in the loss, and was outscored 38-31 in the second half after leading by two points at the break.
