Central Arkansas beats UNC Greensboro, 73-60
CONWAY, Ark. (AP)—Mike Pouncy scored 26 points and had two assists to help Central Arkansas to a 73-60 victory Saturday night over UNC Greensboro.
Pouncy was the only player in double-digits for Central Arkansas (2-1), hitting 11 of his 14 shots inside the arc and making one three-pointer. Overall, the Bears made 44 points in the paint, hitting half of its shots from the floor during the game.
Central Arkansas led 35-23 at the half, later pulling ahead by as much as 21 points in the second half. The Bears’ bench scored 42 points in the win.
UNC Greensboro (1-2) was led by Mikko Koivisto, who made 24 points and had two steals in the loss. Montel Smith had 11 points. The Spartans hit 40 percent of their shots from inside the arc and about a third of their three-point attempts.
