Detroit beats Eastern Michigan 62-47
DETROIT (AP)—Eulis Stephens scored 13 points to lift the University of Detroit to a 62-47 win over Eastern Michigan on Saturday night.
Xavier Keeling and Thomas Kennedy each added 12 for Detroit (1-2)
L.J. Frazier led Eastern Michigan (1-3) with 14 and Solomon Farris had 13 points.
Eastern Michigan led 21-18 at halftime but the Titans outscored the Eagles 18-9 in the first 6:40 of the second half. Donovan Foster’s 3-pointer with 16:12 left put Detroit ahead for good, 27-26. Stephens and Nemanja Jokic each followed with 3-pointers to make it 33-26 with 14:37 left before the Eagles’ Justin Dobbins’ bucket with 14:05 left made the score 33-28.
But Jokic hit another 3-pointer with 13:20 remaining for a 36-28 Titans’ lead.
