Northwestern beats Brown, 73-64
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP)—Craig Moore scored career-high 31 points as Northwestern defeated Brown, 73-64, on Saturday night.
Moore made nine 3-pointers to break the school record of eight he set last season. Northwestern (3-0) extended its season-opening win streak to three games for the first time in 15 years.
Matt Mullery led Brown (1-3) with 17 while Peter Sullivan added 16.
Moore scored 24 points in the first half as the Wildcats built a 48-26 lead.
Brown, however, switched from zone to a man-to-man defense in the second half and gradually chipped away at its deficit.
With Peter Skrelja scoring six points, Brown went on a 22-10 run to pull within 66-60 with 4:41 remaining.
Northwestern countered with a 7-0 run to put the game out of reach.
