Cal Poly beats North Florida 76-42 in BYU tourney

PROVO, Utah (AP)—Lorenzo Keeler scored 23 points, including 14 in the decisive first half, to lead Cal Poly to a 76-42 win over North Florida Friday night.

The Mustangs (1-2) put the game away early with a 28-2 run midway through the opening half. Keeler hit a shot to cap the run and put Cal Poly up 33-7 with 4:32 remaining in the half.

Defensively the Mustangs held the Ospreys to 13 percent shooting from the field in the opening half and 0-for-9 from behind the 3-point line. They finished the game at 25 percent and 1-of-14 from beyond the arc.

Titus Shelton was also in double figures for the Mustangs with 11 points.

North Florida (0-3) was led by Stan Januska with 14 points and Cortez Riley with 11.

Both teams lost their first-round games Thursday night in a four-team tournament hosted by Brigham Young. The Ospreys lost to Brigham Young, while the Mustangs lost to Rice.
