DURHAM, NH (AP)—Matt Kenyi had 17 points and Jeremy Lin and Keith Wright each had 15 to lead Harvard to a season-opening 80-69 victory over New Hampshire on Wednesday night.
Wright’s layup put Harvard ahead to stay, 8-7, and then Kenyi had five points in a 14-2 run. That stretched a 24-20 lead to 38-22. Harvard led 48-33 at the half.
When New Hampshire (1-1) pulled within 60-53, Harvard scored six straight points. The Crimson then beat back a final Wildcats’ push as Lin scored five straight points in a 9-0 run for a 76-60 lead.
Tyrone Conley scored a season-high 21 points, including four 3-pointers, for New Hampshire. Tyrece Gibbs added 12 points and Alvin Abreu 10.
Harvard shot 61 percent from the field on 27 of 44. New Hampshire managed only 40 percent on 25 of 62.
