East Carolina beats Campbell 86-65
GREENVILLE, N.C (AP)—James Legan scored 24 points to lead East Carolina to an 86-65 win over Campbell on Wednesday night.
Legan was 6-for-12 from 3-point range and Brock Young added 18 points for the Pirates (3-0), who had four starters in double figures. Young also had six assist, and Sam Hinnant added 16 points and a game-high seven assists.
Jonathan Rodriguez led the Fighting Camels (1-1) with 14 points, and Preston Dodson and Jabril Bailey each scored 10 points off the bench.
East Carolina shot 42.4 percent for the field (25 of 59) for the game compared to a 34.5 mark (19 of 55) for Campbell. The Pirates forced 19 turnovers, hit eight 3-pointers and tallied five blocks against the Fighting Camels en route to victory.
