TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP)—Ronald Steele had 15 points and younger brother Andrew chipped in 10 to help Alabama crush Florida A&M 89-48 Wednesday night.
Anthony Brock added 13 points, JaMychal Green 12 and Mikhail Torrance 11 for the Crimson Tide (1-1), which jumped out to an 18-0 lead in the first 4:54.
Florida A&M (0-3) fell behind by as many as 33 points in the first half and 44 in the second. The Rattlers shot only 32.4 percent (22 of 68) from the field, 36.4 percent (4 of 11) from the free-throw line and missed all 20 of their 3-point attempts.
Alabama hit 50 percent (32 of 64) of its field goals, including 9 of 16 from behind the arc. The Crimson Tide also made 16 of 17 free throws.
Larry Jackson led the Rattlers with 12 points.
