JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP)—Jeremy Bynum scored all 17 of his points in the second half to lead Jacksonville State over West Alabama 69-48 Tuesday night.
The Gamecocks (1-1) handed coach James Green his first win by building on their 33-27 halftime lead.
Bynum missed his first five shots of the game but hit 6 of 8 from the floor and 5 of 6 from behind the 3-point line in the final 20 minutes.
The Tigers (0-1) shot just 29.1 percent (16 of 55) from the floor, but held the rebounding edge at 40-36 thanks to Tray Williams’ game-high 10 boards.

This was the 97th meeting between the former Gulf South Conference rivals, but the first since 1993.
