BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP)—Indiana freshman Tom Pritchard scored 19 points, grabbed eight rebounds and was 7-of-8 from the floor Tuesday night, leading the Hoosiers past in-state rival IUPUI 60-57.

Matt Roth, another freshman, added 12 points while Nick Williams and Devan Dumes each scored 10 for Indiana (2-0).

IUPUI (1-2) was led by Alex Young with 15 and John Ashworth with 13 but fell just short of stunning the Hoosiers. Young missed a 3-pointer with about 6 seconds to go that would have given the Jaguars the lead after Pritchard’s turnover.

After walk-on Daniel Moore made two free throws, IUPUI’s Leroy Nobles had a chance to tie it at the buzzer, but Pritchard blocked the shot.
