Cleveland St. beats Oakland 58-55

CLEVELAND (AP)—Norris Cole hit a jumper and a 3-pointer in the final minutes to give Cleveland State a 58-55 win over Oakland Saturday night.

Oakland (0-1) led by 10 points with 15:44 remaining, but Cleveland State (1-0) fought back to within one with five minutes left. The Vikings tied it several minutes later on J’Nathan Bullock’s layup, and Cole followed with his jumper and 3-pointer to make it 58-53 with 1:58 left.

Oakland could only manage a Johnathan Jones jumper the rest of the way.

D’Aundray Brown scored 15 points, Cole had 14 and Bullock had 11 points and 10 rebounds for Cleveland State. Brown also had four steals.

Keith Benson led Oakland with 15 points and Erik Kangas added 11 points.
