Sanders leads balanced scoring as UC Irvine beats UC Davis 79-62

IRVINE, Calif. (AP)—Patrick Sanders led a balanced UC Irvine attack with 18 points Thursday night in a 79-62 victory over UC Davis.

All five UCI starters scored in double figures: Chad DeCasas had 13 points, Michael Hunter 12, and Darren Fells and Marcus McIntosh 11 apiece.

The Anteaters (15-14, 9-6 Big West) won their fourth straight and sixth in seven games. They also upped their record to 11-0 on their Bren Center court this season.

Dominic Calegari led UC Davis (9-21, 2-13) with 17 points, and Vince Oliver added 11.

UCI will be the fifth seed in next week’s Big West Tournament in Anaheim.
