Maxey comes off the bench to lead Jackson St. to 57-49 win over Ark.-Pine Bluff

JACKSON, Miss. (AP)—Grant Maxey scored all 14 of his points in the second half to lead Jackson State to a 57-49 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Monday night.

Maxey, a former starter who came off the bench midway through the first half, scored 10 straight points during a 2-minute stretch of the second half as Jackson State (12-17, 10-6 Southwestern Athletic Conference) turned a 25-17 halftime lead into a 43-23 advantage with 12:30 left in the game.

Garrison Johnson added 11 points for Jackson State.

Jarvis Gunter and Larry Williams led Arkansas-Pine Bluff (12-16, 8-9) with 16 points each.

The Golden Loins lost their third straight after shooting 38 percent in the game.
