Franklin has big game to lead Siena past St. Peter’s
JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP)—Alex Franklin had 28 points, 10 rebounds and two blocked shots to lead Siena to a 77-64 win over St. Peter’s on Sunday.
Edwin Ubiles added 19 points, six boards and two blocks for the Saints (19-10, 13-5 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). Todd Sowell and Wesley Jenkins each scored 13 points for the Peacocks (6-23, 3-15), while Sowell also had 10 rebounds.
The teams traded the lead for most of the first half, and Jenkins’ off-balance 3-pointer at the buzzer gave St. Peter’s a 36-35 lead at the break.
The Saints, though, took command when they opened the second half with an 18-7 run and they never trailed again, leading by as much as 15 points. Siena also won the battle of the boards, outrebounding the Peacocks 41-34.
