LEWISTON, N.Y. (AP)—Charron Fisher scored a game-high 28 points to lead Niagara in an 87-63 win over Canisius Sunday in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play.
Niagara’s starting lineup scored 80 of its 87 points. Stanley Hodge scored 21 points while Tyrone Lewis and Benson Egemonye added 16 and 15 points, respectively for Niagara (19-9, 12-6 MAAC).
Greg Logins scored 23 points for Canisius (5-24, 2-16 MAAC), and Thomas Vasquez-Simmons added 12.
Canisius led 17-15 before Niagara used a 13-2 run to build a 28-19 lead on a Fisher three-point field goal.
Canisius, which missed eight-straight shots during Niagara?s run, came back when Rishawn Johnson scored at after snaring an offensive rebound to make it 32-21.
Egemonye capped a run of seven-straight points when he made one of two free throws to give Niagara a 37-22 lead. Canisius scored the half?s last six points and trailed 37-28 at the break.
Lewis hit a three-point field goal at 15:43 to give Niagara a 53-37 lead, its largest of the game. On Niagara?s next possession, Hodge completed a conventional three-point play for a 56-37 lead at 14:49. Niagara then pushed the lead to 20-or-more points for the rest of the game.
