Cleveland St. 65, Youngstown St. 58
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP)—J’Nathan Bullock scored 17 points and Cedric Jackson added 10 points and 11 assists to lead Cleveland State past Youngstown State 65-58 on Saturday night.
Bullock had 12 rebounds to go with his points, while Jackson also had five rebounds and four steals for the Vikings (20-11, 12-6 Horizon League).
Breyohn Watson chipped in with 13 points and Norris Cole had 10 for Cleveland State, which shot 51 percent from the field.
John Barber had 12 points and Byron Davis, Vance Cooksey and Jack Liles each scored 10 for the Penguins (9-20, 5-13).
Youngstown State, which holds a 35-34 edge in the series between the schools, led by five points in the early going before Cleveland State took control and went ahead 28-18 at the break. The Vikings stretched the lead to 12 points at the outset of the second half before things got tight in the final minutes.
Jackson’s 11 assists was one more than Youngstown State had.
