Beitzel, Kingman lead N. Colorado to 91-79 win over Montana St.

BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP)—Devon Beitzel scored 17 points and Niel Kingman added 16 to lead Northern Colorado to a 91-79 win over Montana State on Saturday night.

Jabril Banks finished with 15 points for the Bears (13-16, 6-10 Big Sky), who led 39-36 at the break.

Seven of Kingman’s points came during a 16-2 run early in the second half that put Northern Colorado ahead 58-40 with 13:58 remaining.

The Bobcats (15-14, 7-9) responded with a 14-2 run that was punctuated by a Bobby Howard layup at 9:32 to decrease the Bears’ lead 69-54.

MSU didn’t come within 10 points in the last 10 minutes of play.

Casey Durham led the Bobcats with 17 points and Carlos Taylor finished with 16. Bobby Howard, Mecklen Davis and Branden Johnson each scored 10 points.
