Bradley’s 22 points lead McNeese, 74-71 over Lamar
LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP)—Jarvis Bradley had 22 points and Kleon Penn had 12 points, 15 rebounds and blocked nine shots as McNeese State upset Lamar 74-71 on Saturday.
The Cowboys (13-13, 7-7 Southland) led 34-28 at halftime, 57-40 with 11:49 left and 74-63 with 1:45 left, but Lamar (18-8, 12-2) scored the last eight points.
Penn’s blocked shots gave him a school-record 108 for the season, two more than set in 1972-73 by Edmond Lawrence—the only former Cowboy ever to make a triple double.
John Pichon had 14 points for McNeese, and John Ford had 12 points and seven assists. The Cowboys had 19 assists and 11 blocked shorts, and outrebounded Lamar 41-28.
Lamar was led Currye Todd’s 16 points. Darren Hopkins had 13 points, Justin Nabors 12 and Lamar Sanders 10.
