HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP)—Antoine Agudio scored 13 points and Greg Johnson had seven of his nine points over the final 2:38 as Hofstra beat Drexel 56-48 on Saturday.
Agudio, the school’s all-time leading scorer, was held well below his 22.9 average in his final home game.
Freshman Charles Jenkins added 10 points for the Pride (12-17, 8-10 Colonial Athletic Association).
Tramayne Hawthorne and Scott Rodgers both had 13 points for the Dragons (12-19, 5-13).
Hawthorne had five points in a 7-0 run that brought Drexel within 38-34 with 13:03 to play. Frank Elegar’s free throw with 2:59 left had the Dragons within 46-45, but Johnson then hit a 3-pointer, an 18-foot jumper as the shot clock expired and then converted a layup after a steal to give the Pride a 53-45 lead with 50 seconds to play.
