Brian Roberts leads Dayton past Fordham 57-50
NEW YORK (AP)—Brian Roberts scored 12 points to help Dayton beat Fordham 57-50 on Saturday night.
Kurt Huelsman and Charles Little each added 11 points for the Flyers (18-9, 6-8 Atlantic 10), who had lost four of their previous five games.
Bryant Dunston had 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Rams (11-15, 5-9), who trailed 30-23 at the half in losing for the third time in four games. Brenton Butler was the only other player for Fordham in double figures with 11.
The Flyers had a 12-5 lead early on as Huelsman led the way with seven points. Mickey Perry’s jumper closed out the run.
Mike Moore’s jumper got the Rams to within 16-11 at 9:10, but Dayton then built three leads of 10 points, the last at 30-20 on Roberts’ 3-pointer at 1:38.
Fordham closed to 32-31 early in the second half, but the Flyers used a 12-7 spurt to take a 44-38 lead with 5:58 left. They could get no closer.
