Missouri State beats Central Michigan 90-76
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP)—Dale Lamberth scored 25 points and Deven Mitchell added 23 to lead Missouri State to a 90-76 win over Central Michigan on Saturday.
Missouri State (14-15) never trailed in the game, although Central Michigan (11-15) stayed close.
After the Bears took a 45-37 halftime lead, Chris Kellerman scored Central Michigan’s first 10 points of the second half. Those points and a basket by Giordano Watson cut Missouri State’s lead to 53-49 with 14:09 left.
Three straight 3-pointers by Watson later in the half had the Chippewas trailing 69-66 with 5:49 left.
The Bears responded with a 12-6 run over the next 4:44 that held off Central Michigan.
The hard-played game saw four technical fouls called in the second half, along with 44 personal fouls in the game.
Justin Fuehrmeyer had 17 for Missouri State.
Watson finished with 17, and Kellerman added 16. Jeremy Allen had 15 points, and Marcus Van scored 12 and grabbed 10 rebounds.
Missouri State hit 26 of 44 from the field, including 5 of 11 from the 3-point line. Central Michigan made 29 of 58 from the field and 11 of 25 from the 3-point line.
