Wolff layup puts Boston U. in lead in 67-64 win over St. Peter’s
JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP)—Matt Wolff hit a layup with 14 seconds left on the clock to put Boston U. in the lead after a late run in the game’s final minutes and the Terriers defeated St. Peter’s 67-64 on Saturday.
As the game’s final seconds continued to tick by, the Peacocks’ Darrell Lampley fell short on a layup that could have put St. Peter’s back in the lead. And Boston U.’s John Holland then made good on two free throws to set the final score.
Corey Lowe scored a total 22 points to lead Boston U. (12-15). He was followed by Holland, with 18 points, and Scott Brittain, with 14 points.
St. Peter’s (6-21) led through most of the second period, only to see it slip away in the last two minutes as the Terriers scored the final eight points of the game.
Wesley Jenkins led the Peacocks with 27 points, all from three-pointers. His nine three-pointers tied a Yanitelli Center record.
