Robert Morris tops Mount St. Mary’s, Md. for 10th win in a row
CORAOPOLIS, Pa. (AP)—Bateko Francisco scored 16 points and Robert Morris tied a school record with its 10th straight victory by beating Mount St. Mary’s, Md. 69-66 on Thursday.
Tony Lee had 12 points and 11 rebounds and A.J. Jackson had 11 for Robert Morris (22-6, 13-2 Northeast Conference), which last won 10 in a row during the 1982-83 season. Jeremy Goode led Mount St. Mary’s (13-14, 9-7) with 15 points and Jean Cajou scored 13.
Robert Morris led 36-34 at halftime but Goode’s 3-pointer tied the score 57-57 with 6:02 remaining. With 25 seconds left, Cajou hit a 3-pointer that got Mount St. Mary’s within one point, 67-66, but Francisco hit two free throws with 10 seconds left to preserve the win.
