Radford rallies past N.C.-Asheville, 62-53

RADFORD, Va. (AP)—Kenny Thomas scored 15 points and Radford used stout defense in the second half Wednesday night to rally past North Carolina-Asheville 62-53.

The Highlanders (9-17, 4-7 Big South) trailed 35-31 at the break, but limited thew Bulldogs (18-8, 7-4) to five field goals and 13.9 percent shooting in the second half.

N.C.-Asheville scored just 18 points in the final 20 minutes.

Martell McDuffy added 13 points and 10 rebounds for Radford, and Eric Hall grabbed 16 rebounds as the Highlanders outrebounded the visitors 49-34.

K.J. Garland and Vincent James led the Bulldogs with 16 points each.
