Milligan helps Massachusetts defeat Saint Louis 88-77

AMHERST, Mass. (AP)—Dante Milligan scored 15 of his game-high 21 points in the second half to lead Massachusetts to an 88-77 win over Saint Louis in an Atlantic 10 Conference game Sunday.

Milligan was 8-11 from the field. He got offensive help from Gary Forbes, who finished with 17 points to help end the Billikens’ two-game winning streak.

Etienne Brower also had 15 points and 9 rebounds; Ricky Harris scored 13 points and Chris Lowe ended with 13 points for the Minutemen (16-9, 5-6 Atlantic 10).

Kevin Lisch led Saint Louis (14-11, 5-6 Atlantic 10) with 25 points. Danny Brown scored 19 and Paul Eckerle tied his career high with 13 points.

UMass led 41-36 at halftime and never trailed in the game. The Minutemen dazed the Billikens from the start, hitting 5-of-6 from the field, including all three 3-pointers, to take a 13-5 lead.

Brower had 12 of his points and a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc before intermission.

Lisch and Paul Eckerle had 10 each for the Billikens in the first half.
